Alcon, a division of the Novartis Group committed to eye care and headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, recently announced the opening of the Alcon Experience Center, a state-of-the-art center dedicated to eye health training and education. The Center will be based on Fort Worth and feature technology and products from Alcon’s three businesses: Vision Care, Surgical, and Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals.
The goal of the Alcon Experience Center is to help train professionals, offering hands-on training and educational experience, allowing clinicians worldwide to be in contact with the company’s wide portfolio of technology and the latest advances in optometry and ophthalmology, ultimately providing a realistic environment of clinical practice. The Center is also planned to host high school and university students from the North Texas region, as part of the company’s effort to promote education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The Alcon Experience Center covers a space of more than 36,000 square feet, and has wet labs for training, and a optometric area, fully equipped with the required devices and a wide range of products and technologies to simulate a real practice environment. Among the technologies available, the Center offers pioneering cataract and Lasik technologies.
The Center also has an over-the-counter (OTC) Innovation Studio, similar to a pharmacy, where retailers and Alcon sales and marketing teams can analyze, test and validate on- and off-shelf merchandising concepts and eye care products. Another feature of the Center is the interactive digital technology experience that visitors can enjoy throughout the facility.
The opening of the Alcon Experience Center reinforces the commitment of the company to provide access to science, technology, and care to the Fort Worth community and the North Texas region.
