Orthofix International‘s new ankle compression nailing system has received a stamp of approval from the medical device supply industry after the design was chosen as an MDEA Award Finalist. Orthofix, which just announced its first quarter financial results for 2013, is a company that develops and provides unique solutions that focus on regeneration and repair for the orthopedic and spinal markets. According to a press release made available on PR.com, Orthofix worked closely with Orchid Design and Orchid California to create, design, and manufacture their new ankle compression nailing system.
“Working with Mike Thomas and his team at Orthofix was a rewarding and enjoyable experience,” said the Business Development Manager at Orchid Design, Peter Bayer, was quoted as saying in a press release made available on PR.com. “Our teams worked very well together and we are very excited to see the Ankle Compression Nailing System be recognized as an MDEA Finalist.”
According to Orthofix, their products are “widely distributed around the world to surgeons and patients via Orthofix’s sales representatives and its subsidiaries, and via collaborations with other leading orthopedic product companies. In addition, Orthofix is collaborating on R&D activities with leading research and clinical organizations such as the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation, and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.” Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, meanwhile, is a company that specializes in contract design and development for products in the orthopedic, cardiovascular, and dental industries.
Winners of the Medical Device Manufacturers Awards will be announced on June 19, 2013 in Philadelphia, during the Medical Device Manufacturers East trade show taking place during that time.
