The Austin-based Benchmark Research has recently received prestigious accolades from two prestigious associations. Both the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and the World Vaccine Congress (WVC), acknowledged the company at their annual conferences last week.
Benchmark’s Ann Rutledge, the company’s Manager of Quality Control and a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator, was given ACRP’s 2013 Outstanding Leadership in Clinical Research Award for Leadership as a CRC, thanks to her successful work in developing and implementing site processes and standard operating procedures for Benchmark, as well as for crafting training methods for the company and for ACRP as well.
WVC honored Benchmark by identifying them as “Highly Recommended,” coming in runner-up in the organization’s Best Clinical Site & Trial Network category at this year’s Sixth Annual Vaccine Industry Excellence (ViE) Awards. The award particularly honors work in vaccines over the past year. The award this year specifically went to Benchmark’s Fort Worth-based facilities.
Of course, Benchmark is not new to receiving accolades for its work in vaccine R&D.: they also received a ViE award last year from their Austin facility, winning in the Best Clinical Trial Site category. Mark Lacy, the founder and CEO of Benchmark Research, commented, “We are honored to be recognized again for our commitment to excellence in vaccine research. Both the ACRP award to Ann and the ViE awards to our sites underscore the priority Benchmark places on raising the standard in clinical research.”
