James E. Garrison III, MD and G. Duncan McCarroll, MD founded Innovative Clinical Trials in 2002. It was originally as an enhancement for their multi-specialty private practice called Bexar Diagnostic Medicine Associates. In 2003, the growth of their research division escalated to the point where relocation to a larger facility was required. Innovative Clinical Trials acquired its own entity and became the Research Division of Bexar Diagnostic Medicine Associates in 2004. Both Physicians are Certified Clinical Trials Investigators (CCTI) with extensive training in Good Clinical Practices. Each Physician personally evaluates the study proposals, determine participation, attend Investigator Meetings and e4nsure that all initiation activities are performed. They participate in the selection of trial subjects, monitor participant safety during a clinical trial, review study documents and perform study related procedures. They communicate as needed with the IRB and sponsors personnel, oversee monitor visits and verify the accurate collection and reporting of data to the sponsor and IRB. Bi-weekly Research Staff meetings are conducted to ensure compliance with FDA and ICH-GCP, protocols, handling of the investigational product, data management and study close out.
