Pronucleotein’s technology focuses on developing selected DNA aptamer sequences and DNA aptamer-conjugates for diagnostics uses.
Aptamers are DNA or RNA “synthetic oligonucleotides” that exhibit desired characteristic features such as a greater affinity and selectivity in binding specific targets. When conjugated to quantum dots, fluorophores and other molecules, the resulting molecular structures are useful tools in that the selected sequences can form specific “binding pockets” for their cognate ligands.

Once a synthetic DNA sequence is identified, the sequence can be easily reproduced in large quantities by synthesis vendors.
Synthetic oligonucleotides/aptamers behave as custom-made, synthetic “antibodies,” are non-toxic, easier to store than natural antibodies, and offer a definitive advantage in providing new and improved solutions.
